  Ibagué is a Colombian municipality located in the center-west of Colombia. It is the capital of the department of Tolima. It was founded on October 14, 1550 by the Spanish captain Andrés López de Galarza as Villa de San Bonifacio de Ibagué del Valle de las Lanzas, which makes it one of the oldest cities in America. It is called The Musical Capital of Colombia, a title given to it by the French Count of Gabriac in his travel chronicles published in Europe around 1886, who was surprised by the musical atmosphere in the city, its colorful murals on the downtown buildings and the Conservatory of the Tolima, considered one of the most important music schools in the country. LECHONA   TAMAL I bagué has many options for food, but the region is famous for el tamal tolimense (these dish has pork chicken, vetch, eggs and tamal dough), the lechona tolimense (these dish has pork, vetch, garlic, eggs,rise), el bizcochos de achira (these dish has eggs, cheese curds and achira) and el viudo de pescado (these dish has fish bague o capaz, vegetables, garlic and yucca).
