Ibagué has many options for food, but the region is famous for el tamal tolimense (these dish has pork chicken, vetch, eggs and tamal dough), the lechona tolimense (these dish has pork, vetch, garlic, eggs,rise), el bizcochos de achira (these dish has eggs, cheese curds and achira) and el viudo de pescado (these dish has fish bague o capaz, vegetables, garlic and yucca). These dishes are not suitable for allergies and vegetarians. 


If you want to eat lechona tolimense or tamal, we recommend these places:

  1. Lechoneria Eduvina, It is located on Avenida Ambalá #39-100 in front of Córdoba and many people say it is the best. 

  2. Capitán Lechón:  It is located on calle 41 # 11-26.

  3. Lechoneria Tolimense Bajo Cero: It is located on Cra 2 Sur #12-37


The cost is $10.000 or $20.000 per portion. These dishes are not suitable for vegetarians

If you are looking for other types of food, my recommendations are the following:

  1. Augurio: It is located on Carrera 5 # 41-16 Ed. F-25, they sell mexican food, meats and seafood. I recommend their guacamole. They have vegetarian options. The cost approximate for a plate is $45.000 to $60.000. The service is excellent

  1. Felo la Serena: It is located on Lote 12 Mz 13 Jordan Etapa 6 Paralela Del Jordan, Sobre La Quinta. This place is beautiful. They mainly sell seafood, but they have several options and they have vegetarian options. The cost approximate for a plate is $45.000 to $60.000. I recommend the paella. The service is excellent

  1. Don Pedro: It is located on Av. 60 # 13a-33. They sell from typical food to fast food. The prices are cheap. I recommend the pina colada lemonade and the burger. The service is excellent. But they don't have vegetarian options.

  1. Matheus Panadería: There are several in the city, they sell delicious bread with cheese and it is not expensive. They do not have vegetarian options and all their products contain milk.

  2. Morata: This place is delicious, they sell very rich breakfasts. It´s bakery and pastry shop is also delicious. They do not have vegetarian options and all their products contain milk.
